Argos terms of use
Version dated .
These terms describe the use of the Argos audit service, operated by Antoine Le Louët. They are available without an account, as are the privacy policy and service information.
The service and its scope
Argos analyses a public URL and produces a report of technical findings and scores. Measurements cover the submitted page and the resources loaded at the time of the analysis. They do not constitute an exhaustive audit of every page on the website.
Available features, measurement modules and usage limits may depend on the service configuration and the offer associated with your account.
Permitted use
Only submit public pages that you are authorised to have analysed. Following a domain in your account does not verify that you own it.
Do not submit URLs containing credentials, secrets or confidential information. Do not use Argos to attempt to access a private network, bypass access restrictions, disrupt a website or the service, or run abusive analyses. You must respect the service’s technical and usage limits.
Accounts and sign-in methods
You can start an audit without an account when this option is available. Accounts let you save your analyses and follow URLs, among other features. Some actions require a verified email address and a valid session.
You are responsible for protecting your sign-in methods and for the use of your account. Signing in with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn is optional and contacts the chosen provider at your initiative. Report any unrecognised access to your account to the operator.
Closing your account revokes access and archives the account. It does not automatically delete data or disable previously shared report links before they expire. The privacy policy explains retention and deletion requests.
Reports and sharing
A report link allows anyone who has it to read that report until it expires. Keep the link safe and share it only with your intended recipients. Asking search engines not to index reports does not replace access control.
Access to your personal area and its history requires sign-in. Having a shared link does not grant access to its owner’s account.
Interpreting results
Results depend on the availability of the page, its resources and measurement services, and on execution conditions. An analysis may be partial or contain false positives. A missing check or a good score does not prove the absence of defects.
Reports do not certify a website’s security, accessibility, legal compliance or search engine ranking. Check findings in their context before deciding on a fix. The scoring methodology describes the limits of these indicators.
Availability and changes
The service may be temporarily unavailable, including for maintenance or following an incident affecting a measurement module. No report delivery time or continuous availability is guaranteed.
The version and date of these terms appear at the top of this page. Read them on future visits to learn about any changes. Your statutory rights remain applicable.
