Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Argos, reports, analysis limits and how your data is handled.

About Argos

What is Argos?

Argos is a free technical audit tool for a public URL, with no account required, that provides a private report with scores and recommendations for performance, security, SEO and accessibility.

Is Argos really free?

Yes. Analysis is completely free, with no account to create and no credit card required.

How long does an analysis take?

A full analysis takes about 20 to 30 seconds. The report page updates automatically once the audit is complete.

Which sites can I analyze?

Any public site reachable over HTTP or HTTPS. For security reasons, local or private addresses (localhost, internal networks) are blocked.

Reports

What does a report contain?

An overall score, detailed scores per category (performance, security, SEO, accessibility) and a list of prioritized issues, sorted by severity, with recommended actions.

Is my report public?

No. Each report is accessible through a URL containing a unique token. It is not indexed by search engines and stays private unless you share the link.

Can I share my report?

Yes. Just send the report link: anyone with the link can view it. Only share it with people you trust.

How long does a report stay available?

Reports have an expiration date. After that, the link is no longer valid and you need to run a new analysis to get an up-to-date report.

Analysis limits

What does Argos analyze?

Four areas: performance, security, SEO and accessibility. Checks include HTTP headers, HTML structure, the TLS certificate, browser metrics and Lighthouse results. Runtime is a source of performance measurements, not an additional area.

Does Argos replace a manual audit?

No. Argos gives a fast, prioritized automated diagnosis. It does not replace the expertise of an in-depth audit performed by a specialist.

Why did my analysis fail?

Most often because the site is unreachable, too slow to respond, or blocks bots. Check that the URL is correct and publicly accessible, then try again.

Is there a limit on the number of analyses?

There is no strict quota for normal use. Reasonable usage is expected to keep the service fast and reliable for everyone.

Privacy

What data does Argos keep?

Argos keeps the analyzed URL and the generated report for as long as needed to display it. No personal data is required to run an analysis.

Who can view my reports?

Only people who have the link containing the report token. Reports are neither listed publicly nor indexed.

Do my reports show up in Google?

No. Report pages are marked as non-indexable and protected by a token, so they don't appear in search results.

What's next

Will Argos stay free?

Basic analysis is meant to stay free. Advanced features may be offered later as part of a dedicated plan.

What features are planned?

Ideas under consideration include tracking score changes over time, comparing analyses, exporting reports and API access. Nothing is set in stone yet.

How can I stay informed about new features?

You can subscribe to the newsletter from the home page to be notified about updates and new features.

Still have a question?

The easiest way is often to try it. Run a free analysis of your site.
